History Repeating

This week we take a look back to the beginnings of one of the most well known vintage jewelry brands out there, Miriam Haskell. In 1924 Mrs. Haskell created not only a brand of jewelry, but an entirely new concept. Fashion jewelry as an accessory to fashion clothing. Inspired by her good friend Coco Chanel, who paved the way for fashion jewelry in Paris, Miriam was welcomed with open arms by all of her friends in the fashion world. Some of the best known, and best dressed women of New York wore her jewelry. In 1926 Haskell established the Miriam Haskell Company which included a wholesale manufacturing devision. Each piece, from the very beginning, was made by hand and never mass produced.
